Manchester United signed Jadon Sancho during the summer but the England international has really struggled to replicate his form from the Bundesliga.

Sancho was one of the top forwards in Germany but he’s even struggling to get consistent game time this season for his new club.

So far during the 2021/22 season, Jadon Sancho has played only 236 minutes in the Premier League but still, he’s managed to make it to the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers.

Gareth Southgate has really backed the winger during the ongoing international break and many think the manager will even hand him a start against Andorra. While the England boss has been generous towards Sancho by naming him in the squad but if his words are anything to go by then we don’t think the Man United man will feature in the starting lineup on Saturday.

“With Jadon, I’m not surprised, really,” said Southgate, as quoted. “The Bundesliga is totally different, Dortmund is a big club but Manchester United is one of the biggest in the world.

“There’s some adaptation to that, there’s a definite adaptation to the league, you’re not going to get the goals and assists numbers anywhere near in our league, that you are in the Bundesliga.

“There are some very good teams but also it’s a good league for young players to develop him because there are some teams that aren’t at that level.

“Our league, every game is intense and tough and he’s probably just starting to realise that.

“Does he deserve to be in on these performances over the last few weeks? Well probably not, but I think we feel we have invested in Jadon over a period of time, we believe he can get to a high level.

“I would like some time with him to chat with him and help that process that’s going on at Manchester United as well and I think for him to feel that we have belief in him at this point is a good message.

“So again we’re talking about there’s no perfect solution here and you could easily throw another name at me that we’ve left out in the past and say, ‘well you didn’t deal with them in the same way’.

“We try to individually do the right thing at the right time, send the right message and sometimes the right message is to leave a player out and maybe they respond and that’s the right thing but we feel with Jadon at this time it is important for us to keep him with us.”

Will Jadon Sancho play against Andorra?

Jadon Sancho has been going through the same phase which almost every new Premier League player goes through but we hope as the season rolls along, the winger will come good for Manchester United.

As far as the Andorra game is concerned, there’s no way Jadon Sancho is going to get a start.

Jack Grealish will be occupying the left flank on Saturday and as far as the right-side of attack is concerned, it’s probably going to be a battle between Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling.

Sterling should be the obvious choice in that area of the pitch but Andorra are not the toughest of opponents so Gareth Southgate could hand Saka a start.

Jadon Sancho has been named in the squad so that his shoulders do not drop further and at best, he could get to play the final quarter on Saturday if England manage to wrap up the match early.
