Rangers FC and AFC Bournemouth are two of the frontrunners in the signing of London-born striker Lyle Taylor this summer.

The 30-year-old currently plays for Charlton Athletic but is set to be a free agent in the summer and in order to secure an exit, the forward has refused to play the remaining matches for the Addicks, due to fears of getting injured.

Up until now, it seemed as if Lyle Taylor is set to move to either Scotland or play in the Premier League. But now as per the Daily Mail, the player has received a massive offer from Turkish side Galatasaray.

The report claims: “Charlton’s stay-away top scorer Lyle Taylor has an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray to quadruple his money.

“There is also interest from Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in Taylor, who is refusing to return to finish the 2019-20 season. Taylor, 30, does not want to scupper his next money-spinning move with his contract expiring this summer.

“His decision to not play has left his Charlton team-mates unhappy, many of whom have relegation clauses in their own contracts which would see them suffer significant cuts.”

Will Lyle Taylor head to Turkey?

Taylor’s refusal to play the remaining matches has caused a fair bit of stir at the Valley and he has recently come out to apologize to the fans.

‘I hope people can look at this and not hate me,’ he said. ‘I’d like to think people will listen to this with more of an open mind and look into my journey and where I’ve came from.

‘I know I won’t be remembered at Charlton like I did at Wimbledon: that was someone who went out there giving everything and had to be dragged off the pitch after giving my all in every game.

‘I might be remembered as a money-grabber or a let-down, but I would like to think some people will look beyond that and remember the good times I shared with the manager and my team-mates and Charlton Athletic.

‘Hopefully, the Charlton fans can look on it more fondly than with hatred or disgust.’

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer had recently admitted the player is looking to join a club which can give him a significant pay rise next season which is why Rangers and Bournemouth were being tipped as the favourites.

But if this news about Galatasaray’s offer is true then there’s no denying Lyle Taylor will start packing his bags in order to head to Turkey during the summer.

As per Football League FC, Taylor is earning £4,500 per week at Charlton meaning Galatasaray is willing to offer him a package of around £14,000 per week. While this is undoubtedly a massive hike but if this assumption is true then Bournemouth, as well as Rangers FC, are capable of matching these figures.
