West Ham United faced Liverpool in their first Premier League game of the new season and Pellegrini’s side were thrashed 4-0.
Liverpool picked up from where they left off last season as Mo Salah and company ran riot at Anfield making Pellegrini’s men look like a very average side.
The Reds saw goals from Mo Salah, Daniel Sturridge and a brace from Sadio Mane and in reality, Pellegrini’s side never posed any kind of threat for Liverpool.
It’s pretty clear that the new Hammers manager is yet to figure out his best eleven and make a decision as to which players which feature regularly for him.
And if the first match is anything to go by then Jack Wilshere did not make a very strong case for himself on Sunday.
Wilshere had a very poor outing against Liverpool where he managed to make only 29 passes during his stay on the pitch.

And speaking about the 26-year-old for Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has claimed that Pellegrini might have made a blunder by signing Jack Wilshere from Arsenal.
Talking to Sky Sports, Carragher said:
“I don’t think it’s as good as singing as people are saying. He’s still got to bring a lot more. If I was a West Ham fan I’d be more excited about the wide players than Jack Wilshere.”
But we don’t feel that Manuel Pellegrini will give up hope on Jack Wilshere so easily simply because the midfielder was lured into the London Stadium with the promise that he would play a key role for West Ham United during the 2018-19 season.
Liverpool hit the road next weekend in order to take on Crystal Palace while West Ham United play their first home game of the season as they host AFC Bournemouth.
