With Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk at the back, Jurgen Klopp had finally solved Liverpool’s defensive crisis.

But then Joe Gomez injured his leg early in December last year and since then things have gone downhill for the Reds.

Joe Gomez was a key player in the backline and in his absence, the manager has had to play the likes of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip alongside Van Dijk and both of them have had injury concerns themselves.

After the injury, reports suggested that the young defender had fractured his leg and would return late January.

But last week, the manager came out to claim that his injury is taking more time to hell and he is likely to miss the Champions League clash vs Bayern Munich later in February.

And now according to eminent journalist Paul Joyce, the injury has gotten even worse and Joe Gomez will have an operation on his fractured leg.

This means that the defender will even more weeks but there is one bit of silver lining to this news.

As per Joyce, Joe Gomez is expected to play again this season which is a huge boost for Jurgen Klopp.

Right now Jurgen Klopp is in the midst of a huge defensive crisis since, alongside Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren too is out injured with a hamstring injury.

This means that right now Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip are the only two fit centre-backs at Klopp’s disposal.
