Jose Mourinho tactics to be used in the FA Cup final?

Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend meaning Frank Lampard come face to face against Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho took charge of Spurs immediately after the club sacked Mauricio Pochettino and under the Portuguese, the Lilywhites have seen a change in fortune.

Spurs have managed to pick up some fine wins during the past couple of weeks and going into this weekend’s game, they find themselves just three points behind their London rivals.

Chelsea have 29 points and are fourth in the league table meaning if they fail to pick up all three points vs Spurs on Sunday then they would slip out of the top-four spot.

And if the Spurs manager’s past comments are anything to go by then he knows fully well where Chelsea’s problems lie.

Back when Jose Mourinho was working as a pundit early on in the season, he had claimed that Chelsea’s youth lack confidence which is one of the main reasons why the Blues falter against the major sides.

“In the first weekend I was worried and I’m still worried with the big matches,” Jose Mourinho had said[as reported by The Daily Star].

“I think fantastic work. The kids coming into the team are fitting amazingly well with the top class players like Willian and Kante.

“I think really, really great work by Frank. But they lost twice against United, they lost against Liverpool at home.

“They conceded four goals against Ajax and I’m very, very curious to see Chelsea in the next match at the Etihad.

“I’m curious to see if they found that great empathy between the good football they play and the pragmatism that the top teams must have to play against top teams.

“When they find that I think they have a great team for the future. I don’t believe in them to finish top two, but I believe very seriously for them to finish top four.”

There’s no doubt that Jose Mourinho will try and exploit this weakness this Sunday when both the sides meet but there have been some reports claiming that Lampard might just opt to rest some of his youngsters for this match.

The likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham seem to have run out of steam and many believe they should be given a much-deserved rest or else it will be very difficult for them to carry on for the remainder of the season.
