Spurs travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City and it looks like Antonio Conte has already accepted defeat.

Tottenham go into this high-profile game at the back of three Premier League defeats so the odds are heavily stacked against them and as per Conte, this weekend’s game will further expose his team’s difference from the league’s high-rollers.

He told BeIN Sports (as per MEN): “For sure it will be a tough game for us – but at the same time we want to try to play and we want to try to use this game also to have a step for improvement.

“In this game, you understand also the distance, the gap that you have with the other – but you want to play without fear – also because I repeat we are in a moment that we have to go through this situation if we want to have another step and the game against City we know it could be very tough.’

“We know that probably they will have the possession of seventy, seventy-five minutes during the game, but we want to try to change something and also to show that we can fight.

“Manchester City in my opinion is the favourite to win the league this season and also is one of the favourites for the Champions League because we are talking about a team who are very very strong in every aspect – the squad and I don’t see weakness in this team.”

Man City vs Spurs: Has Conte already accepted defeat?

Conte seems to be really frustrated with how the Spurs board is handling all the transfer business and he’s someone who rarely minces his words.

It looks like Levy has not kept his promises and the above statement was just a way for the manager to make the chairman know about his feelings.

There’s no way a manager like Antonio Conte is going to lie down and accept defeat, despite the fact they are playing a top team like Man City.

Conte is a master tactician so there’s bound to be a few tricks up his sleeve when his side travel to Manchester on Saturday. Spurs are obviously not the favourites but with players like Harry Kane and Son at his disposal, there’s every chance the Lilywhites can perform the perfect smash and grab.
