Jose Mourinho Tottenham take on Chelsea

Manchester United are expected to be in the transfer market this January as Jose Mourinho is planning to bring in some reinforcements.

United made a number of signings during the summer transfer window but most of them have turned out to failures. The biggest one being the acquisition of Brazilian Fred who is yet to feature prominently under Jose Mourinho.

As per reports, the Man United boss is planning to make a move for AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Lorenzo is a youth product of Roma but the club chose to sell him off to Sassulo in 2014 only to bring back him in the summer of 2017 by exercising a buy-back clause of €10 million.

And since then the 22-year-old midfielder has turned out to be an influential figure for the Serie A outfit.

The rumours of Lorenzo Pellegrini have started picking up wind over the course of the week and some reports even claimed that the midfielder’s representative Giampiero Pocetta has met with the Premier League club.

But Pochetta has swiftly come to rubbish such rumours claiming Lorenzo Pellegrini is happy at AS Roma.

“Pellegrini is only thinking about improving with and for Roma,” he told Corriere Dello Sport.

“I’m sorry that rumours [about Manchester United] have spread about financial aspects relating to him and his team-mates, but it doesn’t matter for Lorenzo. He doesn’t live for meetings, especially financial ones.

“These issues don’t matter just now, it’s normal that Pellegrini is liked. Lorenzo is happy though, he’s already chosen Roma once.

“Then, when it’s time, we’ll sit down with Monchi again.

“If I have to talk about Lorenzo right now the only thing I can talk about is his extraordinary form,

“He’s getting what he deserves on the pitch, and the rumours about the transfer market have never distracted him nor disturbed him.”
