Man United have already started the clearout and as many as five first-team players have already left the club in the previous few weeks.

Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani’s exit were announced pretty early on and in the last few days, Man United have also shown the door to Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag has decided to get rid of defenders Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

He wrote on Twitter: “Both Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are set to leave Manchester United this summer – decision made.

“Diogo Dalot’s expected to stay at Manchester United this summer, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has chances to leave waiting for new proposals.”

Do United have buyers for all these players?

It makes perfect sense to sell all these players because Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe have hardly played for the club. Bailly has spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch and in the previous season, Tuanzebe was out on loan to Aston Villa and then to Napoli.

At Villa, he managed to play only 11 matches and at Napoli, his record was even worse, playing in only two games across all competitions. Injuries have been a major reason for these low appearances but overall, he has failed to impress any manager under whom he’s played.

As things stand, there are no suitors for Eric Bailly but Brighton have been linked with Tuanzebe and the Seagulls might try and sign him.

Wan-Bissaka did start the previous season as the first-choice right-back but he fell down the pecking order once Ralf Rangnick took charge of the club. Crystal Palace have reportedly been keeping tabs on the full-back as Vieira is keen to bring him on board for the upcoming season.

Does the Man United boss have proper replacements?

One of Erik ten Hag’s biggest priorities this summer is to bring in a new central defender and the club is massively interested in 20-year-old Jurrien Timber and Villarreal’s Pau Torres.

The new Man United man wants to bring in a ball-playing centre-back and we think the club will be able to land at least one of their targets.

As far as the right-back role is concerned, we think the Man United manager wants to use Diogo Dalot as his first-choice player in that position because the Portuguese international is pretty good when going forward. He does have to work on some of his defensive aspects but since Ten Hag’s teams usually play an attacking brand of football, Dalot can be a success under the new regime.
