Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will be available for selection when they welcome Brighton at home this weekend.

The Chilean came back from a long injury lay-off but once again injured himself during the Reds’ FA Cup win over Reading a fortnight ago.

This meant Alexis Sanchez was not able to play the game vs Spurs last weekend.

Alexis Sanchez has not quite been able to settle down ever since he moved to Old Trafford last year and this season he was often dropped down to the bench by former manager Jose Mourinho.

The Chilean’s talents have been questioned by many people during the past couple of months but now the fans should be happy with what Solskjaer has had to say about him.

While giving an update on Alexis Sanchez, the Man United manager reveals that the forward had played 15 to 20 mins extra during the Reading game and should have come off at half-time.

But the player chose not to tell this to the manager during the break.

Solksjaer said: “Alexis has trained all week, so hopefully he comes through the session today and will be available,

“He is a player who loves to play football, it doesn’t matter who you are, you want to play football.

“And he’s been hindered by injury. I know all about injuries and how frustrating that can be and how eager you are to get back.

”Maybe in the Reading game he should have told me at half-time, ‘I need to come off now’, because you know the 15-20 minutes he played in the second half, maybe that was too much for him. So that gave him a setback.

“So he’s chomping at the bit I have to say. He’s working hard in training and as I said to you before, his attitude in training has been fantastic.

“And he wants to play. So for me, I’m looking forward to seeing him, but I have loads of good players to choose from.”

While the Man United boss would not have been too pleased with Alexis Sanchez when he chose to disclose his discomfort but the fans, on the other hand, should be content with the fact that the Chilean is giving it his all at the club.
