Man United lost their Premier League season opener to Crystal Palace and defender Victor Lindelof was easily the worst performing player on the pitch for the Red Devils.

The centre-back looked really poor and former Man United man Gary Neville was quick to point out that his former club should now shift their focus from Jadon Sancho to signing a new centre-back.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said (via MEN): “You can talk about Jadon Sancho all you like, but until they get a centre-back in that can run and defend one-on-one, you’re never going to win the league.

“They’re not going to win the league with that centre-back pairing. They have to get a mobile, quick, dominant centre-back in alongside Lindelof or Maguire.”

Now speaking about the latest updates, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Man United are looking to bring in, not one but three new players before the transfer window shuts down next month.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Manchester United priority: left back and right winger. Possible also a CB.

“Tonight MUFC have been in contact again with Alex Telles agents. He will push to leave Porto on next few days.  Man Utd are monitoring and considering an opening bid. There’s also another option as LB.”

Dayot Upamecano has been linked with Man United but those rumours have died down during the past couple of days.

But now that Man United will be looking to sign a new centre-back, we are sure that a lot of players will be linked with the Premier League giants.

No matter which player they end up getting, the whole transfer process is going to take some time meaning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has very little choice in terms of rotating his defensive line-up for the next couple of matches.

Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are both out injured while Eric Bailly has just returned back to training.
