Arsenal take on Premier League rivals Leicester City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday and before this high-profile match, full-back Kieran Tierney seems to have picked up an injury.

Kieran Tierney finally looks well-settled in the English top division but the left-back could not feature against West Ham United on Saturday night due to an injury which he picked up during the warm-up.

Immediately, there were doubts over his fitness especially since the youngster had been struggling with various injury setbacks over the past two years.

Thankfully, this seems not too big an issue since Mikel Arteta has made it clear that Kieran Tierney is fine, indicating to the fact that he should be available for selection in midweek.

The manager said after the match: “Kieran is fine. He had a little muscular discomfort in the last few days.

“He tried today and worked in the warm-up but he wasn’t feeling comfortable today.

“Well, we could not control it. We believed that he was going to be fit but during the warm-up, in the last 10 minutes, he said he wasn’t feeling OK.

“We had to make a decision. We were prepared just in case and Kola came on and had a good game.”

If Kieran Tierney cannot be fit in time then Sead Kolasinac will once again come into the side and slot into the left side of that three-man back-line.

Also, there’s a big chance that Mikel Arteta might look to rest the Scottish youngster against the Foxes since Arsenal will travel to Anfield in order to take on Liverpool next weekend in the Premier League.
