Man United centre-back Marcos Rojo is considering a move out of Old Trafford this summer – according to reports.

The Argentine joined United in 2014 from Sporting CP for a reported fee of €20 million but the defender had not been able to cement a regular first-team place in the last five years.

Last season, he picked up an injury in December which kept his out of action for more than two months meaning he missed out around 15 games for Man United.

This meant he could only feature in just 5 Premier League games last season clearly suggesting that he is way down the pecking order at the club.

Right now, Solskjaer has an overload of centre-backs at his disposal and the club are still chasing Leicester City’s, Harry Maguire.

And if the England international arrives then Marcos Rojo could very well be pushed into the background and ESPN are now reporting that he will choose to move out instead of warming the benches.

“Marcos Rojo will consider a move away from Manchester United if he believes first-team opportunities at Old Trafford will be limited next season, sources have told ESPN FC.”

The Argentinian has featured in bits and pieces during the pre-season tour but clearly, Solskjaer does not view him as a regular centre-back option.

Other reports though suggest that Ole has been impressed with Marcos Rojo during the tour and wants to use him in his plans for the upcoming season more so since the centre back can also play as a left-back.

But the defender wants guaranteed game time from the manager otherwise he will not shy away from looking for greener pastures.

Marcos Rojo still has three years left on his current deal at Man United so the club are in no hurry to offload him and they will be more than happy to keep the defender at the club for one more season.
