At the time of writing this article, Arsenal are 10th on the league table and have also been knocked out of the Europa League meaning Mikel Arteta should fail to take his side back to the Champions League unless his players can pull off a miracle.

Since taking charge of the club back in December, Mikel Arteta has been able to change the mindset of his players but his side are yet to string together good results which is why with each passing week, Arsenal are falling further behind in the race of the top-four.

But Gunners legend David Seaman has warned the management that they will have to be patient with their new boss since building a new side from the ground up will take some time meaning instant results are not be expected.

The legend said, as quoted by Goal: “[Arteta] can’t get players in now. He will try to revitalise them, but he’s coaching them now.

“It’s not like you can go in and change it overnight. He needs a lot of time to coach and he will do that.

“I like him as a manager, I like what he says and, from what I’ve heard on the training ground, it’s really good as well.

“I think it’s going to be a bit of a longer process than what a lot of people thought.

“In the summer, or at the end of the season when the transfer window opens, it’s going to be a big test for Arsenal as to who comes in and who goes out.

“Even getting top five is going to be a big ask this season because confidence now is really low.

“We need to start giving the fans something to cheer about because, at the moment, it’s hard to watch Arsenal.”

Mikel Arteta the right man for the job:

Mikel Arteta has certainly done a lot of positive things since he took charge of Arsenal and it’s very evident that the former Man City coach has arrived at the club with a set of rules and plans.

And whichever player does not fit into that mould will surely be shown the door at the end of the season.

But having said that, the manager will have to keep in mind that he is able to bring in his desired players before axing all the deadwood from the dressing room.

Manchester United have shown tremendous faith in Solskjaer and after a string of bad results, the Red Devils are finally showing glimpses of their old self. And if Arsenal want to get back to the top tier of European football, the first thing the board will have to understand is that the process will take atleast two to three transfer windows.
