Liverpool take on Manchester City at home in the Premier League this Sunday and the Reds will be losing to put an end to their winless streak.

Liverpool are currently second on the league table – tied on points with City and a win would mean they can reclaim their top spot. That though, would be easier said than done given Manchester City are an equally matched side.

On top of being a tough game, Jurgen Klopp’s attacking lineup has not been in sync during the past couple of games and the Reds were on the verge of missing out Naby Keita due to a back injury.

Naby Keita’s injury update:

Keita had to be taken off the pitch during the Napoli game and was immediately hospitalized after having severe back pain.

Initially, Naby Keita’s injury was said to be serious and he remained a huge doubt for the game against Manchester City on Sunday but now Jurgen Klopp has come out with a positive news.

The manager has claimed that Naby Keita’s injury is not very serious and he has a back spasm.

The midfielder has joined back training and there is a huge possibility that he will be named in the line up vs Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp said: “I’m not 100 per cent sure. He had a back spasm so we have to wait a little bit.

“He will be in today. If he can do something on the training ground, I don’t know. I spoke to the doc but we have to see him again then we will make a decision about that. It didn’t look too serious so he has a chance but we don’t know.”

Liverpool fans can now breathe a sigh of relief not only because Naby Keita’s might play on Sunday but also because Jordan Henderson will not take the pitch.

Henderson was superb for the Reds last season but this campaign he has once again proved what an average midfielder he really is.

Jurgen Klopp’s team feast on fast-paced attacking footballing but Jordan Henderson has been that one player who constantly keeps breaking that flow.

Now that the manager has made it clear that Naby Keita’s injury is not serious, maybe the Liverpool fans will not have to see the sight of Jordan Henderson on Sunday.
