Ousmane Dembele to the Premier League
Ousmane Dembele

Last week Arsenal had received a massive boost when reports in Spain had claimed that Barcelona are willing to lower the price tag for Ousmane Dembele in order to offload him as quickly as possible.

The report in Marca had claimed: “Dembélé has been valued by Barcelona at around 60 million. Barça’s intention is to sign Lautaro and Neymar, so there would be an excess of filmmakers.

“The Frenchman has not only been chosen for the large number of men there are to move close to the rival area but also for the serious doubts that there are with his physical condition since he arrived at the Camp Nou”

This news was really music to the ears of Mikel Arteta since the North London club can really use someone as talented as Ousmane Dembele despite his poor form in the La Liga.

Will Arsenal miss out on Ousmane Dembele?

As per Le10Sport, PSG and Juventus have both shown interest in signing Ousmane Dembele which immediately puts the Gunners on the back foot.

The report claims: “Leonardo would think more and more about the idea of recruiting Ousmane Dembélé. However, the sports director of PSG could rub Juventus for the striker of FC Barcelona.

“According to information from Mundo Deportivo, Juventus is considering recruiting Ousmane Dembélé this summer”

Some people might think this is a real setback for Arsenal but we believe the entry of the two European giants might be a blessing in disguise for Mikel Arteta.

Ousmane Dembele was one of the best youngsters while he was playing for Dortmund but after moving to Barcelona, all the Frenchman has done is frequent the medical rooms at Camp Nou.

The World Cup winner joined the Catalans in 2017 for a fee of €125 million and over these three years, he has suffered nine different injuries out of which two have been sustained this season. During the 2019-20 season, the 23-year-old has managed to play in only five La Liga matches courtesy of these injuries.

So there is no justification about spending so much money on a player who clearly cannot keep himself fit. Also, last summer, Arsenal spend bag loads of money to sign a Nicolas Pepe from France so it makes no sense to pay more money to recruit yet another right-winger.
