Manchester United have had a very mixed start to the new Premier League season and with each passing week, it seems Jose Mourinho if failing to keep control over his players – especially Paul Pogba.

A couple of weeks ago, the Frenchman had claimed he has a very professional relationship with his manager and has also hinted at the fact that he could move out of the club by the end of the season.

And now after the draw vs Wolves, Paul Pogba has come out to claim that Man United should be an attacking side at home suggesting Jose Mourinho should rethink his tactics.

Pogba said: ‘We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves,

‘When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford. We are here to attack.

‘I think teams are scared when they see Man United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake.

‘Maybe the attitude should be better and we should play better because, again, we are at Old Trafford and we should just attack and press like we did against Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal last season.

‘When we play like this it’s easier for us.’

While we totally agree with the midfielder on the fact that Jose Mourinho should come out of his defensive mould and play how Man United have always played – with an attacking mindset.

But does the manager really have the luxury of asking his players to play attacking football?

Especially when he has Paul Pogba in his first eleven.

Paul Pogba is shaped in a similar mould to that of Neymar given that the midfielder just refuses to track back when his team do not have the ball.

The World Cup winner had a very poor domestic season last year but turned all of that around during the World Cup with France. And immediately people started pointing fingers at Jose Mourinho for his failures to utilize Paul Pogba’s full potential.

But what many fail to understand is the fact that Pogba had the luxury of playing alongside N’Golo Kante in the French team – a player who easily does the work of more than two players on the pitch.

But then, there’s only one N’Golo Kante.

Paul Pogba is more often than not guilty of losing possession in crucial areas of the pitch and then he just stands there disgusted at himself while others around him fight hard to win the ball back.

He can seldom keep pace with an opposition player and abruptly gives up tracking – hoping his teammates will fill up for him.

While many people argue that he does not have the freedom as he had with France or Juventus but no one can shy away from the fact that he needs to contribute to the team whenever Manchester United do not have possession of the ball.

We are not saying Paul Pogba is lazy but he is that perfect example of a modern footballer who is only concerned with what is happening on his half of the pitch. He is the epitome of those footballers who do not like criticism and instead of trying to prove his critics wrong, the player would rather try and find a way out and join a new club.

Yes, Paul Pogba is world class but so is his attitude.
