Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is eager to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool and he is willing to use Raphael Varane as part of the deal.
Yes, you read that right.
Zidane has earmarked Sadio Mane and Eden Hazard as two of his top transfer targets for the summer and while the Los Blancos have already made of a move for Hazard, Zizou knows for a fact that luring Mane out will not be easy.
Liverpool lost Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona some time ago and Klopp will surely not want another one of his forwards to head out this summer.
But if reports are to be believed then Zidane is ready to send Raphael Varane the other way in a swap deal for Sadio Mane.
Raphael Varane is currently one of the best defenders in world football and the Real manager thinks that offering such a top class player would surely be able to make Liverpool think twice.
This season Raphael Varane has made 35 appearances for Real Madrid and Jurgen Klopp could surely use a player like him.
Liverpool started the season with Van Dijk and Joe Gomez in central defence but after the latter got injured, the Reds have been using Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip as Van Dijk’s partner in crime.
To be very honest while the likes of Lovren and Matip are good defenders but if the Anfield outfit were to get the services of Raphael Varane, undoubtedly it would be a great upgrade.
It still remains to be seen how Jurgen Klopp reacts to this offer and while Sadio Mane has claimed that he does not wish to leave Liverpool anytime soon if the Reds want him gone then surely he will have no other option.
Also if Zinedine Zidane does get the services of Mane in exchange of Raphael Varane and he also ends up with Hazard it would be interesting to see, how the Frenchman would use them since both of them play on the left flank.
