Belgium kicked off their 2018 World Cup campaign with a 3-0 win over Panama and their emphatic striker Romelu Lukaku bagged two goals.

But if you were looking at the game carefully then you would have noticed that the Manchester United striker was doing much more than scoring goals.

Before the match kicked off, the Belgium players gathered into a huddle for a final team talk and in the middle of the hurdle was Romelu Lukaku who was seen delivering the pre-match speech.

Now for many people, this would seem like a very normal thing to do except for the fact that the speech should be delivered by the captain of the team.

And Romelu Lukaku is not the captain.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez had named Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard as his team’s captain ahead of the World Cup despite having a number of senior players in his squad.

But the Chelsea man was far doing his duties during Belgium’s World Cup opener.

It was just yesterday that Romelu Lukaku revealed stories of his childhood and the hardships that he had to overcome in order to become a footballer. And it seems that all those struggles have made him a born leader.

Romelu Lukaku had also revealed that he was working hard with Belgium assistant coach Thierry Henry on his game and the fine start to his campaign could very well be a result of that.
