Chelsea have paid a fortune to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club but many experts feel all this money could eventually go down the drain.

Romelu Lukaku shone for Inter Milan last season and he was an integral part in helping the side win the Serie A. But his time with Manchester United was not particularly a happy one and there’s a big chance the 28-year-old might once again fail to adapt to the English top division.

Playing in the Serie A and the EPL are two very contrasting things and according to many, Romelu Lukaku is set to replicate his dull form which he had with Man United.

While this prediction could very well come true but according to Gary Neville, Lukaku is going to play a key part in Chelsea’s title push this campaign.

The pundit said, as quoted: “They (Chelsea) are going to be serious this season,” admitted Neville in light of the Blues’ opening day victory over Palace.

“They were last season, but really serious in terms of the Premier League.

“Lukaku makes them very, very dangerous. For Chelsea, he will score a tonne of goals. He is perfect for that club. I know he’s been there once before, but this time he comes back with maturity, with experience, with hundreds of goals under his belt.

“I talk about gold signings; I have no doubt that it will be a success and that he will do the 20, 25, 30 goals.

“I’ve got no doubts with Romelu Lukaku, that he will go into that Chelsea team and make them real challengers for the Premier League title.

“He’s a game-changer for them in terms of top four, to really pushing Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in terms of going for that title.”

Romelu Lukaku scored 47 goals in the Serie A during his two seasons with Inter Milan but it is his time with Manchester United and Everton that will be worrying the Chelsea fans.

With Everton, he did score a lot of goals but would go completely missing against the big sides. And at Manchester United, he couldn’t even hold onto the ball properly at times.

Chelsea’s playing style should suit Romelu Lukaku much more but he is not an alien striker to the English teams so the defenders, as well as the managers, know very well how to deal with him and his features.

It will be really hard for him to reach a similar goals tally which he had at Inter Milan but if he can get even close then Romelu Lukaku should be helping Chelsea win the Premier League.
