Rangers FC brought in striker Umar Sadiq from AS Roma on a season-long loan during the previous summer transfer window.

And upon arrival, the Nigerian was supposed the be the third choice striker after Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty.

But his time at Ibrox was nothing but a failure as Umar Sadig ended up making just a single appearance in the Premiership and his loan spell was terminated in December.

Umar Sadiq went back to AS Roma and since then the youngster has joined Serie B side Perugia until the end of the season.

Recently Umar Sadiq was asked about Rangers’ fight for the Premiership title.

And the 22-year-old chose to spurt some venom.

“I honestly don’t care how they[Rangers] do,” Sadiq told the Sunday Post.

“As long as I was a Rangers player, I behaved like a professional, giving everything I could of myself to the shirt but now I don’t want to hear about them and what they are doing anymore.

“In my opinion, they behaved in a disrespectful way to me, both as a player and as a person.

“When it ended, Steven Gerrard didn’t even have the courage to talk to me and tell me what was happening face-to-face.

“That was a surprise to me. I didn’t expect such behaviour.”

Sadiq had arrived at Ibrox last summer in the hope of playing regularly under Gerrard but even he knew that he had to prove his worth first.

But unfortunately, the early form of Kyle Lafferty and the continued brilliance of Alfredo Morelos meant Umar Sadiq was just warming the benches.
