West Ham United head to Old Trafford on Saturday to take on Manchester United and before that match, David Moyes has received several injury boosts.

The Hammers suffered a loss to Leeds United in their previous game and this defeat was largely because of the absence of Tomas Soucek. Soucek missed that game due to COVID while the other central midfielder Mark Noble was also missing thanks to a knee injury.

The duo though are expected to make a comeback with Football.London claiming that the pair will be available for selection during the weekend.

Kurt Zouma has also returned to training after recovering from a knee injury and then COVID and the defender will also find a place in the matchday squad vs Manchester United.

Will West Ham United regain their midfield cohesiveness?

In the 2-3 loss to Leeds United, Lanzini had to pair up with Declan Rice in central midfield and it’s safe to say that West Ham United were all over the place in that game.

The Hammers had no command of the middle of the pitch so if Tomas Soucek or even Mark Noble is fully fit then one of them is a guaranteed starter on Saturday.

The Leeds game was a clear indication that Rice won’t be able to handle the attacking onslaughts all alone and with Man United boasting players like Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, Soucek is badly needed.

Kurt Zouma though won’t be rushed into the side since he’s been out for more than a month so if he is available for selection then at best he will find a place on the substitutes bench. Issa Diop and Craig Dawson are going to pair up in central defence.

This defensive pairing isn’t the favourite for the manager but if Rice and Soucek are playing as the defensive screen then David Moyes will be more than confident that West Ham United will be able to pick up a win against his former employers.

Algeria have been knocked out of the AFCON so Said Benrahma is also coming back but the Manchester United game is going to come too early for the 26-year-old.
