Rangers FC have so far made four signings during the January transfer window but if reports are to be believed then the Ibrox outfit could also lose one of their key players.

As per the latest rumours, right-back James Tavernier could be subject to an enormous bid sometime this month.

The source of this news is Bill Young, from RockSport Radio who in the past has provided some really reliable updates.

James Tavernier has been in fine form scoring nine goals and providing 14 assists in his 3 appearances for the club so far this season.

The right-back is clearly Steven Gerrard’s first choice player in that position but even the manager will think of selling him off it the bid is in the region of £7 million(as reported).

On Tuesday Bill Young tweeted: “Just been told to expect a bid for Tavernier from down south of around £7mil. I hadn’t heard anything on that front but source is good.”

While the interested club has not been named but last month there were some reports that Brighton are interested in making a move for James Tavernier sometime in January.

We still cannot say for sure if Brighton are planning to make that £7 million bid but this bit of news seems to have really split the Rangers fanbase.

Some claim the club should take the money by selling off James Tavernier and then use that money to rebuild their squad over the summer.

Others though want the manager to hold onto the right-back only because if the Gers manage to win a silverware this season then James Tavernier’s value will increase even more.
