Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be on his way to FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window – as per a report in the Coral.

The Gabon international is about to enter the final year of his deal at the Emirates and there have been heavy rumours of Arsenal admitting to the fact that he will not sign a new deal.

This means, Mikel Arteta has no other option but to let him leave in the summer and as per Coral, Barcelona seem to be the frontrunners in signing the player at the end of this season.

The report claims: “Gunners frontman has been linked with a move away and Barcelona are the favourites to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“The La Liga leaders have moved into 2/1 to sign the Arsenal striker when the transfer window reopens.”

This will surely be a big blow to the likes of Chelsea & Manchester United who have also been linked with Aubameyang but as per John Hill, Barcelona are currently at the front of the queue.

“Speculation over Aubameyang’s future continues to pick up pace and we think Barcelona will be at the very front of the queue for his services this summer,” said Coral’s John Hill.

Will Barcelona sign Aubameyang in the summer?

Barcelona are reportedly looking at Aubameyang as the replacement to Luis Suarez and if that is truly the case then the Gabon international might not be the right choice.

Suarez is currently 33 years old which is one of the big reasons why the Catalans are looking for a new centre-forward. But the problem with Aubameyang is that he is about to turn 31 next month.

So while there’s no doubt the Arsenal superstar will be a perfect fit for Barcelona but we do not think, the La Liga outfit will be eager to spend a large sum of money on someone who is on the wrong side of his professional career.

Despite being in the final year of his deal, Arsenal are expected to quote a large sum of money for their biggest assets and owing to this financial crisis, Barcelona should will look to bring in someone much younger at a cheaper transfer price instead of spending big on Aubameyang.
