Arsenal have managed to turn things around after a dismal start to the season and Alexandre Lacazette has been one of the reasons why the Gunners are playing so well and scoring so many goals.

After Aubameyang left last month, all the goalscoring and leadership pressure fell on Lacazette’s shoulders and fortunately, the Frenchman has come out with flying colours. Lacazette has been one of the driving forces in the attacking areas and he was once again influential during Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Watford.

The forward though is out of contract at the end of the season but with the way he has been playing, it seems like Mikel Arteta has had a change of heart and is now willing to offer Alexandre Lacazette a new contract.

When asked if he wants to keep Lacazette, Arteta admitted: “It is the case. I said to you, at the end of the season where we know where we are, we’ll sit down with those three players and between all of us, we’ll decide what we do to move forward.

“I think he’s had really good moments in terms of goal-scoring records, probably better than what he’s doing right now, but for what we ask of him and for what I ask of him and the contribution that I need from him, I think he’s doing really, really well.”

Will Alexandre Lacazette remain at Arsenal or will he leave?

Alexandre Lacazette provided two assists in that Watford game and there’s no denying that he is playing a superb brand of football. He has scored three goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League this season but we don’t think he will be staying beyond the summer.

There’s a lot of chatter about the Gunners looking to sign a new centre-forward for the next season and if this turns out to be true then Alexandre Lacazette will once again fall down the pecking order.

Clubs like Juventus, Lyon and Marseille have all been linked with the Frenchman and with so many clubs interested, we don’t think he will be content with sitting on the bench next season.

He has proved his worth in the previous few months and this will help even more clubs showing an interest in him. This is another reason why Alexandre Lacazette will look to leave in the summer so that he can get a bigger paycheck.

The Gunners will look to spend heavily in the attacking areas and since Gabriel Martinelli can also play in the centre-forward’s role, Mikel Arteta won’t be too worried about Alexandre Lacazette leaving at the end of this season.
