Rangers FC forward Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move out of the club this summer with FC Porto interested in him.

Portuguese outlet A Bola claimed last week that the Porto boss is looking to bring in Morelos as a replacement for Moussa Marega who went on to join Saudia Arabian outfit Al-Hilal last month.

Porto are one of the big European clubs so interest from the two-times Champions League winners is sure to entice Alfredo Morelos but former Villa man Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that the South American could snub the interest and remain with the Gers.

“He might see it as a step up,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“But he’s probably looking at it and thinking ‘Rangers have got a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League through the qualifying rounds and I’ve got a chance to play under a manager who loves me in the Champions League.’

“I don’t see him wanting to go to Porto or accept an offer from them. He’ll want to finish what he’s got going on at Rangers.

“Rangers are on fire at the moment, they’ll attract players. He’s only young so he’s got time to make that move in the future. He’s only just turned 25, he’s got plenty of time to make that move.

“I don’t see it happening this summer. He’ll want to have a good go at it in the Champions League and will want to win try and win the league again.”

Will Alfredo Morelos remain with Rangers FC?

Rangers have won the Scottish Premiership this time around and they also have a great chance of playing in the Champions League next season. So, there is a possibility that Morelos might not want to make to switch to Porto.

But, if he was to join the Dragons then he will be able to play in the European top tier almost every season.

Depending on how strong Porto’s interest is, Alfredo Morelos might have a really important decision to make in the next few months.

His contract with Rangers FC expires in 2023 and he is already 25 years old. So does he take a gamble and spend one more season in Scotland or does he go for a sure shot UCL spot by joining FC Porto?
