Dani Ceballos has had a real roller-coaster season in England but since the restart, the loanee has been an integral part of Arsenal’s midfield, alongside Granit Xhaka.
Barring the Man City match, Dani Ceballos has started each and every Premier League for the Gunners since the resumption of the season and against Leicester City, the Spaniard put in yet another fine shift. And after the match, the manager was full of praise for the 23-year-old.
The manager said, as quoted by the club’s official website: “He was superb again, I think him and Granit have created a really good understanding.
“They give us a lot of balance and a lot of stability with the ball to make the right decision in moments of transition and they are evolving a lot together.
“Defensively, Dani has made a big step forward with the way he is pressing, the amount of interceptions that he is putting in and he is enjoying it.
“I am really happy with him, I think it is something that the club has to go a little bit further with Real Madrid on.
“At the moment he is playing very well, I am really happy with him and he is a big talent and still has a lot of things to improve.”
Will Dani Ceballos remain at Arsenal next season?
Ceballos’ time in England has been riddled with a series of injuries but the Spaniard finally seems to be getting his dues worth at the Emirates stadium.
Since the restart, he has seen a lot of game time at Arsenal and there’s every chance that Mikel Arteta might offer him a permanent deal at the club this summer.
Firstly, the Real Madrid manager does not need him back at the Bernabeu next season and on top of that, Arsenal are not likely to spend too much money in the transfer market. Hence someone like Dani Ceballos might be a real bargain signing for the North London club.
Arteta could also part ways with players like Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in which case the importance of Dani Ceballos will increase ten folds next season – if he was to remain at the club.
