The UEFA have already postponed next week’s Champions League and Europa League last-16 game and right now, there are fears that the COVID-19 outbreak will also impact the EURO 2020.

The EURO 2020 is scheduled to be held in the summer starting in the middle of June but there’s a major chance that the tournament could be pushed to the next summer.

Apart from the UCL and UEL, almost all the major footballing leagues have been suspended for the next couple of weeks meaning now there’s major tensions as to how these league will be wrapped up.

And as per reports, the UEFA will hold a meeting on Tuesday to decide how to conclude the domestic and European tournaments and a concrete decision is expected to be made about the EURO 2020.

UEFA said in a statement, via Sky Sports: “In the light of the ongoing developments in the spread of COVID-19 across Europe and the changing analysis of the World Health Organisation, UEFA has invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to attend meetings by videoconference on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s response to the outbreak.

“Discussions will include all domestic and European competitions, including UEFA EURO 2020. Further communication will be made following those meetings.”

Will the EURO 2020 be postponed?

Well, as things stand, the EURO 2020 is the biggest roadblock for the leagues and if this tournament is to be postponed to the next year then the respective governing bodies should not have any trouble in sorting out their domestic calendar and finishing the currently postponed leagues.
