Arsenal and Everton are about to set a major setback in the signing of centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes as PSG have also joined the race – according to the latest report.

Le10 Sport are claiming: “With the uncertainty around the future of Thiago Silva, Leonardo is looking for a possible successor to the Brazilian. And the solution could well be found at LOSC.

“According to information from 10 Sport, disclosed a few weeks ago, Leonardo checked off the name of Gabriel to compensate for a possible departure of Thiago Silva.

“Author of a remarkable season in the LOSC jersey, the Brazilian therefore caught the eye of the club of the capital, but not only since Real Madrid, Naples and Everton would also be on the lookout.”

Gabriel Magalhaes joined Lille in 2017 and this season he has been one of the best players for the Ligue 1 side. PSG want him to replace Thiago Silva which could be a serious cause of concern for both Arsenal and Everton.

Will Gabriel Magalhaes snub both Arsenal & Everton?

Arsenal and Everton were said to be the two favourites in this transfer race but now the entry of PSG has obviously shaken up a lot of things.

Gabriel Magalhaes has three more years left on his current deal with Lille meaning the French side are in no hurry to sell him off in the summer. This is also not a great sign for the two Premier League clubs since Lille are not likely to reduce their transfer demands over the next couple of months.

The centre-back had already met with Ancelotti and visited Everton facilities but he is yet to make a final call primarily due to the interest from Arsenal.

And now that a club like PSG have also entered the battle, there’s no way 22-year-old will agree to join one of these clubs so easily.

Also, the Parisian giants will be able to offer the youngster Champions League football next season which at this point in time, seems to be an impossible commitment from Arsenal as well as the Toffees.

The Gunners boss does have a couple of centre-backs at his disposal right now but Mikel Arteta has been keeping track of Gabriel Magalhaes ever since he was appointed the manager at the North London club.
