Manchester City take on PSG in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final next week and their star player Kylian Mbappe is now a doubt for this key game.

The Frenchman was a shadow of his brilliant self during the first leg as Ruben Dias and John Stones managed to keep him at bay throughout the 90 minutes. But Mauricio Pochettino was heavily counting on his to come good next week.

But in a twist of fate, Kylian Mbappe has now picked up a calf problem and will not be playing in PSG’s Ligue 1 game against Lens this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed the news saying: ‘Kylian Mbappe has discomfort in the right calf.

‘We hope it does not matter and that he will be back with us soon.’

But the Daily Mail are citing French reports claiming that Kylian Mbappe will not be playing against Lens only cause Pochettino does not want to risk him before such a key game against Manchester City.

The report states: “According to reports in France, the French World Cup-winning forward feels pain in his right leg and PSG have erred on the side of caution with Tuesday’s fixture at City of greater importance.”

PSG fans will be hoping the problem is not too serious and the World Cup winner is back to full fitness by the end of this weekend. But even if Kylian Mbappe is not 100%, he will feature in the starting line-up against Manchester City.

The French side lost the first leg 2-1 at home so they will have to score at least two away goals next week. And for that to happen players like Neymar and Mbappe will have to come out with flying colours.
