Leicester City take on Man United in the final matchday of the Premier League this Sunday and according to Brendan Rodgers, it’s the OT outfit who will be under more pressure.

Both these sides are fighting to finish in the top-four of the league table and in turn, qualify for the Champions League next season. But according to Rodgers, it’s Man United who absolutely need to play in the top division meaning they will have to force the initiative on Sunday.

The Leicester boss said, as reported: “We want to qualify for the Champions League, they need to.

“If you analyse budgets and everything else, we should actually be nowhere near the position of Manchester United, that’s the reality

“This game and how it’s set up shows you how well we’ve done to be competing at that level. The league is over 38 games and people were having us in the Champions League after 20 games.

“You have to go right the way to the end. There’ll be disappointment if we don’t make it but that would whet the appetite for next season.

“We were in a good position but you’ve got to sustain it. It shows the big improvement this team still has to make.

“But we’re still in an incredible position to arrive where we want to be and let’s give everything to achieve that.”

There’s no denying that Man United belong amongst the elite of European football but if Leicester City miss out on Champions League football then it will be a big blow for the club.

At one point, the Foxes had a 14 point lead from Manchester United on the league table but going into this game, the home side are one point behind Solskjaer’s men.

So while Man United do need to get back into Europe’s top division next season but they will be able to achieve it via only a draw while Leicester need to pick up all three points which is why no matter that Brendan Rodgers says, his players will have to go out and throw the kitchen sink on Sunday.
