Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is currently stalling over a new contract and according to Le10Sport, his agent Mino Raiola has recently offered the midfielder’s services to arch-rivals Liverpool.
The exclusive report claims: “According to our information, the name of Paul Pogba has indeed been mentioned behind the scenes on the side of Liverpool.
“And it was Mino Raiola, the Frenchman’s agent, who was responsible for doing it. In talks with the England club, he has reportedly let Liverpool managers know there is a transfer possibility this summer.
“A daring attempt since Liverpool and Manchester United are not really friendly clubs.
“In response to Mino Raiola’s proposal, Liverpool have reportedly made it known that the case will not be on the agenda for the summer. But that next January, six months away from the end of Paul Pogba’s contract, the opportunity might interest them. A polite way of dismissing the player’s agent.”
Will Paul Pogba choose a move to Liverpool?
The World Cup winner’s current deal expires next summer and the last thing Manchester United will want is to see a player like Paul Pogba join one of their fiercest rivals, that too as a free agent.
Man United will not be willing to sell Pogba to Liverpool this summer but they will be helpless once he enters the final six months of his contract.
We doubt if loyalty means anything to Paul Pogba so there’s every chance Mino Raiola will push the Frenchman to Anfield and if the pay structure is good then the midfielder could very well be wearing the red of Liverpool next season.
PSG are also interested in signing Pogba and Man United will very much be ready to sell their star player to the Ligue 1 club rather than see him join Liverpool as a free agent.
But right now, Manchester United’s only focus will be to make Paul Pogba sign a new deal. And the club have made a really good case for themselves by signing some necessary players in the form of Sancho and Varane.
