Man United want Marc Guehi at Old Trafford

Man United welcome Chelsea on Thursday night and there’s a big chance that Ralf Rangnick could put his faith in some of the academy graduates for this high-profile game.

The manager has informed the press that he is going to be without a series of important players and at the same time, youngsters like Mejbri, Shoretire, Alejandro Garnacho and Alvaro Fernandez have been training with the first-team squad. While it’s not yet written in stone but there’s a possibility that some of them could be used vs the Blues.

Rangnick said[when asked about the academy players getting game time vs Chelsea]: “It’s possible.

“But we also have to be fair to those players – it has to be the right moment. They should have a chance to play well and perform well – we can’t just push them into a game.

“We will try to play the best possible team of those players that are available.

“Right now, it seems we have 14 in our professional team without the youngsters that are available and probably three or four of those young players will be part of the squad.”

Will the youngsters start for Man United vs Chelsea?

Rangnick has revealed that in addition to Cavani, Shaw and Pogba, Maguire, Jadon Sancho and Fred are also going to miss out tomorrow and this is a major cause of concern for him. Fred is not 100% fit, Maguire has picked up a knee injury and Sancho is suffering from tonsilitis.

There’s no way Man United will be able to match up against Chelsea with so many injuries and since the hope of Champions League football has already withered away, Ralf Rangnick might as well try out the youngsters.

Players like Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire are supposed to be the next big stars to come out of the Man United academy and while it will be a risk throwing them on the pitch against a side like Chelsea but in reality, United cannot go down anymore lower than this.

Also, it will be much more respectable to lose with several youngsters on the pitch than going down with the same dysfunctional and disorganised starting XI.
