Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal could be making a final push to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, as per the Manchester Evening News.

The midfielder is out of contract at Leicester in the summer of 2023 and if his manager’s words are anything to go by then the player might have already expressed a desire to leave.

In a recent interview, Brendan Rodgers had accepted that he will fully understand if Tielemans wants to leave in order to take the next step in his career.

Rodgers had recently said, via Daily Mail: “Youri is at an age and at a stage in his contract where he has to ensure he looks at every option. I would love it to be here at Leicester, that is natural, but I understand it’s a very short career.”

Which teams are chasing Youri Tielemans?

As per the latest updates, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal are the three clubs who have shown the most interest in signing the Belgian international.

Liverpool are obviously looking at him as the long-term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum whereas Manchester City want him as the replacement for the ageing Fernandinho.

Arsenal are also out in the market searching for a stable partner for Thomas Partey and Mikel Arteta believes the 24-year-old is going to be the perfect fit.

While Leicester City will not be too keen to part ways with Youri Tielemans during the middle of the season some rumours have suggested that the club are not going to stand in his way if the right offer comes in, within the next few days.

Who are the favourites should Leicester City decide to cash in on him?

Arsenal are the only club who can currently guarantee him regular playing time for the rest of the season but according to Fichajes the Gunners are the least likely to land the midfielder.

Right now the Gunners are at the same level as Leicester City so it only makes sense that Youri Tielemans will want to move upwards in terms of joining a new side.

At Man City and Liverpool though, the 24-year-old will have to fight for his place in the starting line up and it will not be easy to find a niche in those star-studded sides.

Liverpool have Fabinho as their first-choice holding midfielder while Rodri has been putting out A-class performances in that same role for Man City.

With only a few more days left for the transfer window to close, no other side seems to be interested in signing Youri Tielemans so there’s a big chance that he is going to abandon the idea of leaving this month and stay put until the summer.
