Chelsea winger Willian is set to be a free agent at the end of the ongoing season and Premier League sides like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign him.

Mikel Arteta seems to be a big admirer of the Brazilian while Jose Mourinho is interested in reuniting with him at Spurs. But former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise wants Willian to snub a move to either of these clubs and possibly head out of England in the summer.

Wise told Stadium Astro, as per the Express: “Well I wouldn’t want him to go to any of them, I’ve got to say that because it would be competition for Chelsea. Go to Italy please Willian, go away.

“He would be a fit for anyone, at Arsenal and teams like that, I think he’d be a wonderful fit for them. That’s the sad thing about it that we’ll let him go to an opposition that wants to compete and we have to replace him.

“I think we have replaced him but we will want a lot more but we will be depending on only two when you want more. I think Pedro’s going to go as well so we’re going to lose two wide men, which would be disappointing to lose him as well.

“So when you look at it and at the quality that’s going, we’ve got to look then at quality that’s got to come in.

“I would love Chelsea to keep him but I think Chelsea look at this point of view of his age, I think that comes into the equation, They look at the age of him, yes they would probably extend it by a year, they probably won’t give him three.

“And this is why he’s probably got an opportunity elsewhere to take a longer contract. It will be disappointing because I’ve got to say, he’s had some wonderful years at Chelsea and he’s a quality player.

“He’s still got so much ability to give. It will be sad to see him go.”

Willian scored both of Chelsea’s goals vs West Ham United on Thursday which clearly goes on to show that the player still has a lot to give at the highest level.

And time and again the winger has hinted that he wishes to remain in England, possibly London since his family are not too keen to move to a new city after spending so much time in the capital.

So with both Arsenal and Spurs hugely interested in him, the 31-year-old could end up joining one of Chelsea’s local rivals next season.
