Amidst strong interest from FC Porto, it looks like Rangers FC have finally decided to cash in on Alfredo Morelos. But the Scottish champions might just have set the bar too low, according to a report in Sport Witness.

The report cites TV124 saying: “TVI24 show Mais Transferências claims that it shouldn’t be a problem for the club to reach an agreement with the striker, who could indeed be leaving the Ibrox this summer.

“It’s said that convincing the Colombian player of a move ‘wouldn’t be an obstacle’ for a potential deal.

“And in case Porto do go for the signing, then Rangers have already set the price for it. TVI24 claims the Scottish side will demand between €12m and €15m for the transfer.”

Alfredo Morelos to FC Porto on a bargain deal?

Last year, Rangers FC refused to sell Alfredo Morelos to French Champions Lille for a reported fee of around €23 million.

So, if this latest update is true then Rangers have really made a transfer blunder by not cashing in on the 25-year-old during last year’s summer transfer window.

Yes, Morelos was influential in helping the Gers win the SPFL this past season but to lose out on €10-odd million is going to be a big blow for a club like them.

Some rumours suggest FC Porto want to bring down this price even further and they are willing to walk away if Rangers do not meet their demands.

Obviously, the Scottish side should look to hold onto their current asking price but given that Alfredo Morelos has only two more years left on his current deal, Gerrard’s side might have already lost their bargaining power.

Serie A club Cagliari had recently offered €8m for the striker so either the Gers accept €12 million from FC Porto or let Alfredo Morelos leave in exchange for pennies.
