Premier League side Arsenal want to sign not one but two forwards this summer and as per the latest reports, they have their sights set on Gabriel Jesus and Victor Osimhen.

Jesus has told Manchester City he is not ready to extend his contract at the club which means he will likely be sold in the coming months and right now, Arsenal are one of the favourites to land the Brazilian.

Victor Osimhen is the other forward who’s on Arsenal’s radar and according to Goal, Osimhen’s agent flew to London last week for a meeting with Arsenal technical director Edu over a possible transfer.

Does Mikel Arteta need the services of two centre-forwards?

Aubameyang left Arsenal in January plus Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s contracts are expiring at the end of this month so signing a couple of new strikers is more or less a priority for the Gunners.

They have narrowly missed out on Champions League football so they will see a cut in their transfer budget but without at least two new forwards, there’s no way Arsenal will be able to match up with the big boys next season. Once Laca and Nketiah leave, Arteta will only have Martinelli on his books.

Gabriel Jesus has scored eight and assisted eight goals in 28 Premier League games for Manchester City this season whereas the Napoli man has netted 14 goals in 27 league appearances.

Arsenal need to bring in some world-class talent who can perform even under pressure situations and both Osimhen and Jesus fit the brief perfectly. There’s no way Martinelli will be able to play each and every game and even in this season, he was mostly used as a left-winger.

Will Arsenal be able to sign both of them?

In the race to sign Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal will face competition from Spurs and at the same time, Manchester City are not ready to part ways with the 25-year-old.

City are still persuading Jesus to sign a new deal at the club so there’s a chance this transfer saga will trickle down to even the deadline day.

On the other hand, Napoli have qualified for the Champions League so they will try and hold onto Victor Osimhen and on top of that, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is a really fierce negotiator.

Arsenal will need the football Gods to be on their side if they want to sign both Victor Osimhen and Gabriel Jesus, more so since they do not have the lure of the Champions League.
