Arsenal have comfortably beaten Newcastle United on Saturday in the Premier League but it looks like Bukayo Saka might have picked up an injury in that game.

Saka opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 56th minute of the match but he had to be taken off the pitch just 10 minutes later, to be replaced by Gabriel Martinelli. And it was Martinelli who scored the second goal for Arsenal, thereby securing all three points.

Bukayo Saka had gone down holding his left leg which was obviously not a good sign and now Mikel Arteta has admitted that the winger was taken off after he complained of a muscular problem.

The manager said after the game: “It was an action where he said that he felt something.

“He wasn’t comfortable to continue. We’ll have to assess him tomorrow and probably scan him to see if there’s any injury there.

“He felt something muscular and let’s see what it is.”

This is a major cause of concern since Bukayo Saka has not only been in fine form for Arsenal this season but their next game in the Premier League is against Manchester United.

United are in really poor form right now so this is the ideal chance for Arsenal to pick up a comfortable win.

Bukayo Saka has scored two and assisted two goals in 13 league appearances so far this season and with Luke Shaw not in the best of forms, the youngster could have tormented his national teammate.

But if this injury is serious then he is going to miss out since the match will be played just five days later and in such a scenario, Nicolas Pepe will be the one who gets to start down the right-wing.

Martinelli replaced Bukayo Saka on Saturday but that was only because the Gunners were playing Newcastle United. There’s no way Arteta will name him in the first XI against a team like Manchester United.

Hopefully, Saka’s injury is not too serious since trusting Pepe will be something that the Arsenal boss won’t be too ecstatic about.
