West Ham United look to be the favourites to sign forward Danny Ings despite Tottenham Hotspur also interested in signing the 29-year-old.

Spurs have been keeping tabs on the Saints forward as they eye a possible replacement for Harry Kane – should he leave the club this summer.

But according to pundit Dean Windass, Danny Ings is likely to choose a move to the London Stadium instead of Spurs.

Windass told This is Futbol: “I don’t think he will go to Tottenham, but I think he’s nailed on for West Ham. Antonio is still there, but you’ve got to have cover.

“I think that David Moyes knows that he won’t want to wait another year, he’s got European football now, so I think that Danny Ings would be a great fit for West Ham.”

Can Spurs convince Danny Ings to join them?

Danny Ings had a really good 2020-21 season with Southampton, scoring 12 goals in 29 Premier League games so it’s no surprise that two major London clubs are being linked with him.

Ideally, Spurs are the bigger side but if Harry Kane is not leaving then we don’t think Ings will be too eager to join them and become a bench warmer next season.

Also, the Lilywhites are being linked with Manchester United’s Anthony Martial so Danny Ings is not the first preference for their new manager.

West Ham United have finished above Spurs in the Premier League table last season so they will be playing in the Europa League. And this could be an added incentive for Danny Ings to choose David Moyes’ side over Tottenham.

The 29-year-old’s current valuation is only £19.8 million and since he has only one more left on his current deal, the Saints are not planning to hold onto him any longer.
