Norwich City winger Emi Buendia is currently one of the most sought-after players in the Championship and Premier League side Arsenal seem to be keen on landing him this month.

As Willian and Pepe have turned out to be flops, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add a right-sided winger to his ranks for the remainder of the season but it looks the Canaries are not ready to part ways with Emi Buendia any time soon.

In a recent interview, manager Daniel Farke made it clear that the 24-year-old is a key player in the squad and is likely to see out his contract.

“Emi is a key player for us, an important member of the group, and he is totally committed to us,” said Farke.

“He is our player and will continue to be our player. He is on a long-term contract so we keep him.”

And if this was not dampening enough, Sky Sports are claiming that the management are in tune with Farke and up until now, no major club have made any approaches for Emi Buendia.

The report claims: “Sky Sports News has learned none of Norwich’s key players have asked to leave – nor has any Premier League club yet made an official approach.”

Arsenal are said to be preparing a player-plus-cash deal for the winger but Sky Sports believe Norwich City are going to turn it down.

The 24-year-old has played in 19 Championship games this season scoring seven and assisting another seven.

Buendia signed a contract extension last year and as per the terms of his new deal the player is set to remain with Norwich until 2024 so quite evidently the Championship side are in no hurry to cash in on him.

Both Willian and Nicolas Pepe has been really underwhelming so far this campaign and someone like Emi Buendia would have been the perfect long-term replacement.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal make any official approach for the winger during the course of the month or do they focus on what they have and try to sign him in the summer?
