Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus wants to leave the club in the summer and up until now, Arsenal were the favourites to land him.

Jesus is out of contract next year and he’s refused to sign a new deal which is why Guardiola has no option but to offload him this summer. Time and again, the forward has hinted at a possible exit with as many as six clubs keen to bring him on board.

“I’m fine, calm. Calm, as I always was. Always looking for the best for me, for my career,” Jesus had said recently.

“I’ve never been one to throw myself into a project without knowing it. And that’s what I’m going to do. Now I’m focused on the national team, but as of Tuesday I start thinking about my future.”

Madrid and Real Madrid’s interest serious:

Spurs had been linked with Gabriel Jesus a few months ago but over time, these rumours had died down. However, in recent days, Conte’s side seems to have reignited their interest in the Brazilian.

Tottenham are yet to make a formal offer but the club have already held talks with Jesus’ agent over a possible transfer.

This seriousness from Spurs will be a big concern for Arsenal but the real issue will be the entry of Real Madrid. If Madrid are seriously looking into Gabriel Jesus then it will be a major issue for both the North London clubs because not a lot of players have the courage to reject a club like Madrid.

Do Arsenal have a reason to be worried about?

Arsenal were very much confident that they will be able to land the Brazilian but these recent developments will surely be a talking point between Arteta and Edu.

Spurs can offer Champions League football while Real Madrid are obviously the reigning UCL champions so if either of these clubs step up their interest then Arsenal will be in trouble.

At Tottenham, Gabriel Jesus will have to fight with Harry Kane for a place in the first XI however, at Madrid he can be the understudy of Benzema and then lead the line himself in one or maybe two years of time.

UPDATE:

Football Insider are claiming that Jesus has agreed on personal terms with the Gunners and Arsenal are now confident that a deal will be struck very soon.

Now, all they have to do is to agree on a transfer fee with Manchester City before Spurs or Madrid make their formal move.
