Premier League side Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing midfielder Glen Kamara from Rangers FC during the summer transfer window.

Kamara is a product of the Arsenal youth academy but he failed to break into the Gunners first-team and in January 2019 he signed for the Gers after moving through Dundee FC.

This season, the 25-year-old has been a key figure for Rangers in the middle of the park, having played in 28 Premiership matches so far. And his consistency seems to have reignited the interest of Arsenal.

Earlier this month, Football Insider had claimed: “Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, Football Insider understands.

“A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Arsenal have shortlisted Kamara, 25, as a potential target and have let it be known they are willing to offer him a five-year deal.”

This report clearly came as a shock for the Rangers management since interest from a club like Arsenal cannot be taken lightly. But according to former England defender Danny Mills, there’s a big chance Glen Kamara will reject a move to North London and remain at Rangers FC next season.

Danny Mills told Football Insider: “If I was looking at Arsenal, I’d be thinking ‘Ooh, I’m not sure about that.’

“What have Arsenal got to offer me at the moment? Money?

“It’s a team that’s struggling, a team that doesn’t really know where it’s going at the moment. We’re assuming Arteta’s going to still be there but maybe not.

“There’s a lot of unknowns about Arsenal at the moment. Any talk of anyone going to Arsenal I’d be thinking ‘Let’s have a little look at this, let’s see what happens.’”

Arsenal are truly in a mess right now and they are not even going to be playing in Europe next season. Also, the Premier League club already have midfielders like Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey at their disposal so Glen Kamara will have to prove his worth, all over again.

These factors will obviously make it really hard for Arsenal to convince Glen Kamara to make a move in the summer. But it’s the Premier League we are talking about. So if the Emirates outfit can come up with the right kind of transfer values, then both the player as well as Rangers will not shy away from a move.
