Man United are currently second on the Premier League table and they will need to beat West Ham United this weekend if they wish to retain that spot.

The Red Devils managed to keep their title hopes alive by beating City in the derby last weekend but according to Michael Owen, his former side are likely to drop points against the Hammers.

The pundit feels Man United have been devoid of focus while playing at Old Trafford this season and this is the very window of opportunity that Moyes’ side would need to snatch a point.

Owen wrote for BetVictor: “David Moyes has been touted widely as a candidate for Manager of the Year and I have to say it’s well deserved. The Hammers are exceeding most people’s expectations and I see this being a very tricky fixture for Manchester United.

“United’s best performances have been on the road this season. At home, overall, they’ve been decent, however, they do tend to switch off.

“It must be noted that Jesse Lingard will miss out due to the terms of his loan deal, so that is a blow for the visitors.

“That said, I still think the Hammers have enough about them to get something, so I’m siding with David Moyes to take at least a point against his former employers.”

Man United have been somewhat dismal at home this season and so far in the Premier League, the Red Devils have lost four and drawn three matches at OT.

And the kind of form that West Ham United are in, there’s every chance that Manchester United could be staring at yet another draw or even defeat on Sunday.

To make matters worse, the home side will be without the trio of Rashford, Martial and Edinson Cavani so the burden of scoring goals will have the be shared between Fernandes, James, Greenwood and possibly Amad Diallo.
