Dean Henderson or David De Gea Man United

Man United are back in the Premier League this weekend as they face West Ham United and it looks like David De Gea might be sitting this one out.

De Gea was given time off to head back to Spain for the birth of his first child and after spending time with his family, the keeper has come back to Manchester, earlier this week.

Some rumours had been claiming that the keeper will be in contention to feature against West Ham United but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that his regular No 1 might not be match-ready.

Ole said in his press conference: “David is back in Manchester. He is quarantining or self-isolating.

“He’s just touch and go for Sunday, I think. I can’t really know when he came back, so I’m not really sure if it was Monday or Tuesday that he arrived back in Manchester.

“I think the rules are that he’s got to stay at home. He’s not training with us anyway. It’s different if you travel away and compete so, no, he’s not been training since he came back.”

Dean Henderson has been playing in goal in the past few matches so Ole will not be worried at all if David De Gea is not ready in time.

Henderson has been pushing for the No 1 spot all throughout this season and it seems like the academy graduate will get at least another start, this time against the Hammers.

David De Gea can take his own sweet time to get his fitness back and since Henderson has been the cup keeper of choice at Man United this season, the Spanish international might very well enjoy an extended break.

After the Hammers game, Man United face AC Milan in the Europa League and then Leicester City in the FA Cup and in both these matches, Dean Henderson is going to be the No 1, irrespective of how fit De Gea is.
