28-year-old Serge Aurier might be planning to join Arsenal just days after terminating his contract with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, as per Sky Sports.

The right-back still had one more year left on his deal with the Lilywhites but the two parties decided to mutually part ways.

The official statement read: “The Club can confirm the departure of Serge Aurier following the mutual termination of his contract.

“We thank Serge for his service and wish him well for the future.”

And as per the latest buzz, Arsenal have been made aware of the player as he wishes to remain in England during the 2021-22 season. Now it’s up to the Gunners to take a call.

The report claims: “Serge Aurier would consider a move to Arsenal after terminating his contract at Tottenham.

“The 28-year-old wants to stay in England and Arsenal are one of a number of clubs that have been made aware of his preference.”

Will Serge Aurier join Arsenal?

Aurier joined Spurs in 2017 from PSG and since then he’s played in 77 Premier League games for the club. He was always expected to leave this summer but since no bid came in, the player has opted to be a free agent.

Now, Arsenal can certainly use a player like Serge Aurier and with Cedric Soares expected to move to Turkey, a place could certainly open up for the ex-Spurs man.

But having said that, Arsenal’s latest arrival Takehiro Tomiyasu can also play as right-back so Serge Aurier will not be guaranteed game time this season should he join Arsenal.
