Jack Wilshere to Celtic FC

Celtic FC could get their hands on former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere if the SPFL side name Eddie Howe as their next manager.

Recent reports are claiming that Eddie Howe is currently the favourite to be named as the next Celtic FC manager and according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, Jack Wilshere could be tempted to join the Scottish giants if Howe is appointed as their next boss.

“I think he could be tempted,” Kenny told Football Insider. “He’s got connections with Howe, so why not? He’s on a free after all. It would be a good signing for everyone, I think.

“It does depend whether Wilshere would want to move up to Scotland because it’s not like an hour’s drive away.

“It’s a massive club, Celtic. They need to turn things around next season because they’ve had a disappointing year.

“But listen, players like that aren’t out of contract often. If Eddie Howe does get the job, I think this is something they could definitely look at. It would be a great deal.

“He’s had a history of injuries so it would be nice for him to win some trophies.”

Jack Wilshere was set to become the next best thing in the Premier League when he was coming up through the ranks at Arsenal. But a series of injuries have since halted his progress and right now, he is playing for Bournemouth in the Championship.

Normally any other ex-PL star will not be too inclined to join an SPFL side at the age of 29 but Jack Wilshere was without a club for the first half of the season before joining Bournemouth in January. So he should ideally take this opportunity with open arms.

His time at Bournemouth has not been particularly great either having scored just one and assisting another goal in 14 Championship matches and with his contract ending later this month, a move to Celtic could be a really nice option for him.

This transfer obviously will depend on the fact if Celtic do decide to bring in Eddie Howe as their next boss.
