Jack Wilshere signed for West Ham United from Arsenal last summer as a free agent after the Gunners refused to hand the midfielder a new contract.

Wilshere had been with the Gunners ever since he was a child but now that Unai Emery had taken charge of the team, the England international was promptly shown the door.

Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini though wasted no time in swooping him up and many pundits had predicted that Jack Wilshere could turn out to be the wild card for the London outfit his season.

Sadly though that has not been the case.

Much like his time at Arsenal, his career at West Ham has also been marred with injuries and till date, Jack Wilshere has made to make only five Premier League appearances.

Most of the time, the midfielder has spent time on the treatment table and right now he is recovering from ankle surgery and has been out of action since December of 2018.

Some reports have claimed that Jack Wilshere is ruled out of the season and will only return sometime during the summer.

The 27-year-old though has rubbished all these claims and has now revealed that he plans to make a return before the end of the current season.

Jack Wilshere said: “That is the plan [before the end of the season].

“I am back in full training – it has been a long time, frustrating but it was something I had to do after speaking to the specialists.

“I am trying to get fit [but] it is not a great time to come back because you get fully fit, maybe play a couple of games and then the season finishes.

“It is going to be a big off-season for me as well but I am feeling good and I want to play again this [season].

“We still need to finish strong and push for that Europa League place.

“Everyone is happy. We are playing better football and we have brought in good players so I am looking forward to getting back in there with the boys.”
