After Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, AS Monaco are the latest entrant to show an interest in signing Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock, as per RMC Sport.

GFNF cites RMC Sport: “RMC Sport report tonight that AS Monaco are in talks with Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United.”

Joe Willock had a great loan spell with Newcastle United, scoring eight goals during the second half of the season for the Magpies. Steve Bruce is evidently eager to bring in back to the club but interest from Palace and now Monaco could really hinder his plans.

Joe Willock to choose the EPL or Ligue 1?

Former Newcastle United defender Steve Howey has claimed that Joe Willock is likely to choose a move back to Newcastle United despite heavy interest from the Eagles.

“Would he pick Newcastle if it was a choice between the two? You never know,”  Howey told Football Fan Cast.

“The lad is obviously based down in London, but I’d be surprised if he went to Crystal Palace.”

While Palace remain below NUFC in the pecking order but if AS Monaco are really interested in signing the 21-year-old then both these Premier League sides could miss out on him.

Last season, Newcastle finished 12th on the league table while Crystal Palace finished just five spots above the relegation zone. AS Monaco, on the other hand, finished third in Ligue 1 last season, just five points off the top.

The difference is pretty obvious amongst these three sides and on top of that, the Ligue 1 club will be able to offer Joe Willock Champions League football next season.

Every footballer wants to showcase his talents at Europe’s grandest stage and we believe Willock is no different. So if Monaco can offer him regular playing time then the midfielder could surely snub the two English sides and move to Ligue 1.
