Leicester City knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup right before the international break and this weekend, Brendan Rodgers’ side will have the chance to inflict defeat to another Manchester side as they face City in the Premier League.

The Foxes go into this game sitting third on the league table so they will need to pick up a win if they wish to move above Man United and occupy that second spot.

Leicester have not tasted defeat in their last four matches across all competitions but keeping that run going will be an elusive task against a Manchester City side who have won 17 out of the last 18 league matches.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to deploy a 3-4-1-2 formation since it worked brilliantly vs Man United in that FA Cup game and the manager has also gotten a timely boost with some key players returning back from injuries. If Leicester do not manage to pick up at least a point then fourth-placed Chelsea will be breathing down their necks and within a blink of an eye, the Foxes might miss out on Champions League football like the previous season.

Leicester City team news vs Man City:

The manager is not expected to make too many changes to the side which beat Manchester United and the three-man backline will remain the same(Soyuncu, Evans and Fofana). Ndidi and Tielemens have done a brilliant job in defensive midfield and the pair will reprise their role this weekend.

Albrighton is likely to move back to the bench for this encounter with Brendan Rodgers revealing that Ricardo Pereira is fit and available for selection.

“He’ll[Pereira] be available as well. Him and James have been on similar programmes this last couple of weeks. He’s trained with the group and will be available for the squad. Cengo (Cengiz Ãœnder) won’t be available for this weekend.”

Ayoze Perez played as the link between midfield and the forward line in the Man United game but now that James Maddison has returned from injury, the 24-year-old should come straight back into the side.

“He’s back in training and he will be available for the weekend, so that’s great news for us,” Rodgers told the media. “Clearly, he’s not 100 per cent match fit but, in terms of his football fitness, he looks great.”

Iheanacho has been in fine form over the past few weeks and he’s been rightly named as the Premier League player of the month for March. The 24-year-old will start in attack alongside Jamie Vardy.
