Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has fallen out of favour for Frank Lampard this season and he could be on his way to Leeds United this month, according to the BBC.

The report claims: “England international Tomori made 22 appearances for Chelsea last season but has barely featured this term, playing just three games in all competitions.

Leeds looks the likeliest destination with the West Yorkshire side needing cover for long-term absentee Robin Koch.”

Tomori was a shining star at Chelsea last season but the arrival of Thiago Silva has pushed him down the pecking order forcing him to make just one Premier League appearance this season.

It’s all but fair that Lampard allows him to leave on loan for the remainder of the season but the big question is should the 23-year-old be allowed to join a Premier League rival like Leeds United?

French side Rennais FC have also been interested in signing Fikayo Tomori on a loan deal this month but they are yet to make any sort of concrete move yet.

Leeds United, on the other hand, seem to be keen to get the job does as soon as possible which could force the centre-back to make up his mind.

Chelsea are more or less sorted in defence for the rest of the season meaning Lampard will have no issues in sanctioning the loan deal. And with Koch out of action for a long time, Fikayo Tomori should also be able to get a fair bit of game time under Bielsa.
