Chelsea are adamant about signing Declan Rice from West Ham United and as per The Athletic, the Blues are also ready to offer Tammy Abraham as part of the deal.

The Hammers have set a massive £100million price tag on Rice which is why the Blues are yet to make any sort of formal approach. But, if they do then Tammy Abraham could be used as a counterweight.

The Daily Star cites The Athletic: “European champions Chelsea are planning to include striker Tammy Abraham as part of a deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.

“According to The Athletic, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia wants to bring former academy player Rice back to the club after eight years away and is open to using Abraham to lower the cost of the deal.

“Rice departed Chelsea’s academy for West Ham in 2013 at the age of 14 and The Hammers now value him at £100million after featuring 35 times for the club last season and starting all seven of England’s matches at EURO 2020.”

Tammy Abraham heading to West Ham United?

Tammy Abraham has no future at Chelsea which is why Tuchel will not stop him from leaving. And West Ham United are one of the clubs who have been linked with the striker in the past few weeks.

This might seem like a win-win situation for both the sides but it’s Arsenal who could suffer a big setback if this transfer goes through.

The Gunners have also been closely monitoring Tammy Abraham’s situation as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in a long-term replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

The North London side are even ready to pay the £40million transfer fee for the centre-forward but thanks to Chelsea’s plans, the Hammers might now have the first call in signing Tammy Abraham.

David Moyes will not want to lose a player like Declan Rice now that West Ham United have entered into Europe but the centre-forward’s position also needs strengthening. So, it will not be a big shock if the Hammers agree to this cash plus player arrangement – forcing Arsenal to look elsewhere.
